This is a three week course beginning January 31, 2012. Classes are 1.5 hours long. Here's the thumbnail sketch of the course. Missed week 1? That's OK. Dive in on week 2! Or, attend the next offering of this course in April. Cost: $5.00.

Week 1 (Jan 31, 2012): Develop a historical context of the combined issues of energy, resources, population, food and the economy.

Week 2 (Feb 7, 2012): Cultural, social and psychological implications of greater scarcity. Understand how other societies of the last 1000 years have dealt with similar issues, for better and for worse.

Week 3 (Feb 14, 2012): Develop strategies for thinking about your choices regarding energy and food. Calculate energy savings and return on investment for insulation, lower power lighting, growing your own food – and having fun and being happy! Look at what other groups in the Oxford Hills, Maine and nationwide are doing.
