Three types of thermal systems are central receivers , parabolic dishes, and parabolic troughs. Central receivers use heliostats (highly reflective mirrors) that point all the light to a tower. Parabolic dishes are dish shaped reflectors to reflect the sunlight to a receiver above the dish. Parabolic troughs are parabolic reflectors in a trough configuration.
